We are enter­ing an era which can rea­son­ably be described as a New Cold War. The last remain­ing bilat­er­al nuclear arms treaty between the US and Rus­sia — New START – expired on Wednes­day 4th Feb­ru­ary. New START lim­it­ed nuclear weapons deploy­ment of these coun­tries and estab­lished ver­i­fi­ca­tion mea­sures to ensure compliance.

We are hap­py to announce that all sup­port­ers and mem­bers can now book seats on bus­es to the demonstration!
There will be three bus­es trav­el­ling to Faslane on the morn­ing of Sat­ur­day 14th March:

• Glas­gow bus: Leaves from North Hanover Street, near Cos­ta Cafe, at 11am. Please arrive at least 15 min­utes before departure.
• Edin­burgh bus: Leaves from Char­lotte Square, city cen­tre, at 10am. Please arrive at least 15 min­utes before departure.

• Aberdeen bus: Leaves at 7:50am on Skene Street behind His Majesty’s The­atre. Please arrive at least 15 min­utes before departure.
  The bus from Aberdeen will make three stops along the way to Faslane, in Dundee, Perth and Stirling:
  1. Dundee pick­up between 9:35am and 9:40am at the Kingsway Retail Park Bus Stop DD3 8RX
  2. Perth pick­up between 10:16 and 10:21 from Perth Brox­den Park and Ride PH2 0PX
  3. Stir­ling pick­up between 11:03 and 11:08 from Stir­ling Castle­view Park and Ride FK9 4TW

  Sup­port­ers from Aberdeen and these areas should con­tact CND North-East Scot­land at cndabdn@gmail.com to reg­is­ter their inter­est for this bus from the north, which will be drop­ping off at the end of the day also.

Please note: this is instead of our month­ly rehearsal at Broughton St Mary’s. You will need to take your own water and refresh­ments and a fold­ing chair if stand­ing is dif­fi­cult. The coach will stop in Helens­burgh on the way in (and out?) for a com­fort break and we will have access to a ‘com­fort zone’ about 20 min­utes from the North Gate dur­ing the event with a few cars avail­able if need­ed. Fur­ther details near­er the time. WE URGENTLY NEED SOMEONE TO TAKE ON COORDINATING THIS.
