PiH Away Day
November 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 9:00 pm£10 – £20
Timing: registration starts at 9.40am and we plan to start singing at 10am. We will finish with a ceilidh session, and we have to be out of the hall at 9pm.
Directions: The church is at 15 Chamberlain Road, EH10 4DJ, on the corner of Chamberlain Road and Bruntsfield Place at Holy Corner. Please use the entrance in Chamberlain Road (opposite the back/side of the Eric Liddell Centre).
Buses: 11, 16, 23, 36, plus number 5 bus stops just up Morningside Road, past the Church Hill Theatre. If you have to come by car, parking on Chamberlain Road is free on Saturdays.
Cost: £10.00 or £20.00 (to cover venue hire, the song leaders’ time, refreshments, etc). However, there is a Bursary Fund which you are invited to use if it will make a difference, for example to cover care costs or travel. Contact Kathy
Jenkins in confidence: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or if you would like to give more as a donation, that is also welcome.
Food: Tea and coffee (caffeinated and decaffeinated), sugar and milk (cows’ and soya) will be provided.
There will be soup provided for everyone at lunch time. Please bring your own sandwich lunch, plus something to share for a communal evening meal. Please label to indicate common allergens / ingredients.
There is a cooker at the hall to heat items – but we think it is quite slow!
NB: If the food you bring has not been finished at the end then please take the rest home with you, along with the containers.
Please bring your own drinks for the evening.
Kitchen teams: Everyone is invited to sign up for a stint in the kitchen when they register in the morning. Only 5 people are allowed in the kitchen at one time – so small efficient teams are the best way to set up teas and coffees or wash up.
Some preparation for you to do! If you would enjoy / be willing to do either or both of these, then that would be lovely – but is not essential.
- a) On an A5 sheet of paper (half of an A4) answer the question ‘What does Protest in Harmony mean to you?’ – draw / collage / cartoon / paint / write in big letters – your choice! The sheets of paper will then be arranged on the wall in the main hall to make a picture of our combined thoughts and feelings.
- b) Prepare a party piece for the Ceilidh session.
