…and in Glasgow

Hello to an exciting 2013, with the start of Protest in Harmony in Glasgow!

After the resounding success of two well attended and greatly enjoyable trial sessions Larry and I have booked the next 3 regular monthly slots at the centrally located and community orientated Garnethill Multicultural Centre, 21 Rose Street, Garnethill, Glasgow G3 6RE.

And to join in here’s all the in’s and out’s you need to know…

Dates and times

The three Sunday dates are:

  • 13th January
  • 17th February
  • 17th March

The sessions will start at 3pm and finish at 5.30pm so you have enough time to catch the last tubes from Cowcaddens just before 6pm. Please arrive before 3 so you can sign in, pay and generally grab a cuppa and settle in.

The centre is 5 minutes walk from Cowcaddens underground, and on the same Street as the Glasgow Film Theatre. Please see the map for directions.

Coming from the southside: First buses 66, 20 stop outside the Art School’s Haldane building on West Graham St, around the corner from Rose St.

Coming from the Westend, the same buses stop at the last stop on West Graham St on the opposite side of the road. Other First buses that stop nearby are the 61, 75, 40

To cover all our costs for venue hire, paying song leaders time and travel expenses [£105] we are adopting a similar payment approach to PIH in Edinburgh — £6 and £4 depending on whether you are waged or unwaged. This may get reduced if we can top 2530 people each session.

Songleaders and mentoring

If you have offered you skills as a song leader, if you haven’t already please get in touch with Jane: jane@gn.apc.org for 13th January and 17th March and Penny: peacepeacewillpeacewillcome@googlemail.com for the 17th February.

Joining the coordinating group

If you have an interest or skills to help develop the sessions past March 2013 we need your input so come and join us!

And finally, please encourage your friends and family to come and join us in some rousing community singing about the things that really matter to us!
